Hi I’m Elishia,
I am an experienced psychologist who provides a warm and collaborative approach to therapy. I support adult clients (18+) and preschool and primary school-aged children.
I aim to provide my clients with a safe, attuned therapeutic space where they can explore the experiences and challenges that have brought them to therapy. I work alongside clients to develop greater resilience and flexibility, strengthen wellbeing, and build their capacity to respond to current and future life challenges.
I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches, including:
- Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
- Solution Focused Brief Therapy
- Schema Therapy
- Mindfulness Based Interventions
- Child Centred Play Therapy
- Synergetic Play Therapy
I take a trauma-informed and neuroaffirming approach, seeking to understand each person’s experiences, needs and strengths within the context of their relationships and environment. I support clients experiencing anxiety, stress and low mood, as well as those navigating significant life changes, transitions and relationship challenges.
When working with children, I place the therapeutic relationship at the centre of my work, creating a safe, accepting and playful space where children can express themselves in ways that feel natural to them. Through therapeutic play and other developmentally appropriate approaches, I support children to build confidence and self-worth, develop emotional and relational skills, and make sense of challenges they have experienced. I work collaboratively with parents and families, helping them better understand and respond to their child’s needs and supporting stronger connection, regulation and positive change at home.
I have completed specialised training in perinatal and infant mental health, and I particularly enjoy supporting parents in the transition to parenthood and across different stages of parenting.
Outside of my individual therapy work, I enjoy providing clinical supervision to newer therapists, with a particular focus on supporting provisional psychologists, psychology students and play therapists.
