Hi I’m Julie,
I am dedicated to creating a non-judgmental therapeutic relationship where respect, trust and kindness are paramount.
I have worked in private practice, acute outpatient mental health, community support and employment services. I enjoy working with young adults, adults and older adults and have experience supporting individuals with a range of mental health conditions including mood and anxiety disorders, trauma experiences, grief and loss, adjustment difficulties, sleep disturbance, pain, low self-esteem and confidence, stress and anger management, interpersonal difficulties and emotional dysregulation.
To empower you to make meaningful change, I draw on a range of evidence-based interventions such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT).
My area of special interest is working with people who have experienced trauma and assisting you to feel safe again. I have trained in trauma specific interventions including Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and Prolonged Exposure.
I am passionate about ongoing learning and recently completed a post registration Master of Clinical Psychology. I am currently enrolled in the Clinical Psychology Registrar Program to become endorsed as a Clinical Psychologist.
I feel privileged to be able to really listen to your needs and support you to understand, improve and oversee your own psychological wellbeing and personal growth.
